NEXT EVENT: SWISH NIGHT on 24th MAY 7:30pm - 9:00pm (see flyer at bottom of page)

We are very fortunate in St Mary's to have the support of a fantastic Parents and Teachers Association. The PTA aims to encourage socialising amongst the school community as well as raising funds for the school.  It organises the school Summer Fair which draws many visitors from the local community as well as parents, children and teachers from the school. It also organises many other social events where parents, teachers and others can enjoy themselves together.

Everyone is welcome to contribute to the PTA and help build the community life of the school. If you are a parent of a child at St Mary's you are automatically a member. The PTA holds its AGM in the Autumn term, to which all parents are warmly invited. At that meeting you find out how the money we raise is spent and decide what to fundraise for next.

Where the money goes

Here are some of the special projects which the PTA has funded in recent years:

  • Each pupil attends up to 5 Forest School sessions each year, paid for by the PTA.
  • The PTA purchased 32 iPads for use in the classrooms by September 2016.
  • New libraries for Early Years, KS1 and KS2 were introduced for September 2017.
  • Improvements to school IT infrastructure is ongoing with mini-iPads and new data projectors being added to the inventory.
  • Pupils in KS1 and KS2 attended a Bath Children's' Literature Festival event in September subsidised by the PTA.
  • A new outdoor classroom and playhouse for Reception was constructed in 2013, part- funded by the PTA.
  • PTA funds paid to re-stock the school library enabling each pupil to choose at least one book to be purchased in 2012.
